of lir. A. Hamilton who is at

Kowloon British School in the

absence on sick leave of the

This officer was appointed Assistant Master at

the Saiyingpun School on the 14th. of September, 1910, on the now obsolete scale of £270 rising by triennial increments of £30 to £360. He has just completed 3 years service and has begun to draw £300. The Director of Education points out that Mr. Hamilton's present appointment is a responsible one and considers that it would not be just to make him wait for a rise to £360 (under the new scheme) for another three years. Moreover it is the intention that when Mrs. Main, Headmistress of Kowloon School, becomes on 1st. January, 1914, Headmistress of the Peak School, Mr. Hamilton should be appointed substantively as Headmaster at the Kowloon School.

For these reasons I recommend for your favour- -able consideration that Mr. Hamilton's salary should at once be raised to £330 with annual increments of 10 to £360 after which he
